NEW ORLEANS - UALR's Chastity Reed has been named this week's Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of the week marking the second consecutive weekly league honor for the Trojan junior.

Reed averaged 26.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games while recording a season-high 30 points at Bradley to lead the UALR women's basketball team to a 1-1 record.

Against Ole Miss, Reed led the Trojans with 23 points and seven rebounds and added two blocks, one assist, and one steal.

In the win over Bradley, she recorded a season-high 30 points and a team-high 11 rebounds and five steals. Ranked No. 4 in the nation in scoring, Reed has recorded 31 consecutive double-digit scoring games and has recorded 20 or more points in every game this season.

Overall for the Trojans, she averages 24.3 points and 9.1 rebounds and leads the team in field goal percentage with a .459 mark and in free throw percentage with a .788 mark. Reed is just nine points away from 1,000 career points becoming only the seventh women's basketball player to do so and the quickest player to reach that feat.
