The Senior Bowl is football's premier pre-draft event, annually featuring the country's best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South which are coached by the entire coaching staffs from two National Football League teams.

Carrington will be on the North Team which will be coached by the Detroit Lions coaching staff, while Lang and Sheffield will represent the South and will get to work with the Miami Dolphins' Tony Sparano and the rest of his coaching staff.

Alex Carrington, the 2008 Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year, was named a First Team 2009 All-Sun Belt Conference selection in 2009 after completing the season with nine sacks that tied the most this season and eighth most all-time by an SBC player. He also recorded a team-high 14.5 sacks last season, which was the third most in the league. He completed his career with 21.5 sacks for the second most ever by an ASU player and the fourth most in Sun Belt history. He was listed on the 2009 Lombardi, Lott Trophy and Ted Hendricks watch lists. He was the 2008 Little Rock Touchdown Club's ASU Player of the Year and named CollegeFootballNews.com Midseason Second Team All-America. His 2008 season was one of the most dominating ever by a Sun Belt Conference defensive player, finishing just one sack shy of the Sun Belt Conference record 11.5. As a junior, he ranked tied for 14th in the nation in sacks and seventh in the nation in tackles for loss (1.58 per game). His 10.5 sacks in 2008 rank as the fourth most in ASU history and he posted at least one sack in seven. Carrington was a 2007 Honorbale Mention All-Sun Belt Conference selection. Carrington had the best season of his young career in 2007 with 38 tackles, including five for loss of 25 yards, and one sack . The Tupelo, Miss. native started six games at defensive end for ASU in 2006, and saw action in eight total games before suffering a season-ending injury. Carrington redshirted and participated on the scout team in 2006. While at Tupelo High School, Carrington recorded 84 tackles, six sacks and forced three fumbles as a senior.
