Entering its tenth season of football, the Sun Belt Conference and its member institutions will look to make a splash on 2010 Signing Day.

There are many reasons to be optimistic coming off the 2009 football season and undoubtedly coaches in the Sun Belt have hit the recruiting trails knowing that their league continues to flourish.  The Sun Belt Conference is a BCS Conference. In fact, the Sun Belt Conference is one of just 11 BCS Conferences.

The Sun Belt Conference has entered into a primary bowl partnership with the GMAC Bowl beginning next season and running through the 2013 football season. The four year partnership with the GMAC Bowl will call for a Sun Belt team to represent the league in the game following the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 regular seasons. The GMAC Bowl will have first or second selection of a Sun Belt Conference team after the Bowl Championship Series and the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.  The league also announced that it has recently extended its agreement with the R+L Carriers New Orleans bowl through the 2013 football season.

Over the last three seasons the Sun Belt Conference has represented itself well in the postseason. In fact the Sun Belt Conference boasts a winning record of 4-3 in its seven bowl appearances in the last four seasons.

2006 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - Troy 41, Rice 17
2006 Motor City Bowl - Central Michigan 31, Middle Tennessee 14
2007 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - Florida Atlantic 44, Memphis 17
2008 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - Southern Miss 30, Troy 27 (OT)
2008 Motor City Bowl - Florida Atlantic 24, Central Michigan 21
2009 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - Middle Tennessee 42, Southern Miss 32
2010 GMAC Bowl - Central Michigan 44, Troy 41 (OT)

With Middle Tennessee's victory in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, the Sun Belt Conference tied the all-time series with Conference USA in the game at four wins apiece. The Sun Belt Conference has also now won three of the last four R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowls.

The league's agreement with ESPN will give the Sun Belt Conference's rising football league a minimum of two games on either ESPN or ESPN2 each season. Additionally, ESPN Regional Television will have the right to produced, distribute and syndicate up to five football games each year. ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network, will also be granted additional opportunities to select games to air. This trio of networks will be granted a 12 day rolling window during the season to select additional games to televise. Games available for selection are after the third Saturday of the season. This provides the Sun Belt Conference additional opportunities for exposure previously not available.

In May of 2009 the Sun Belt Conference was proud to announce a partnership with Cox Sports Television (CST) and Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) to air Sun Belt Conference games on their channels with what will be known as the Sun Belt Network. This remarkable partnership will provide Sun Belt Conference contests to be accessible in nearly 8 million households across 13 states in the southeast. The Sun Belt Network will air 45 events in the sports of football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball. This remarkable conference centric package will enable Sun Belt Conference regional television package to reach a new high in terms of households reached and contests aired.
