Wood Named Men's Basketball Officials Coordinator

NEW ORLEANS - Mike Wood, a former Naismith Award recipient for Men's Basketball Official of the Year, has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Coordinator for Men's Basketball Officials. The announcement came following the retirement of long term official's coordinator Dale Kelley.

Wood has been officiating NCAA Division I Men's Basketball since 1983 and has over 20 appearances in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. In 2003 he received the Naismith Award for Men's College Official of the Year. He has also served as the coordinator of officials for the Peach Belt Conference.

Wood and his wife Amy were married in 1995 and the couple resides in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Wood has three daughters - Jami, Brianna and Sarah Grace. In his spare time Wood enjoys playing gold, reading and traveling.
