Florida International Head Coach Sergio Rouco

Men

The Golden Panthers are looking for junior forward Alex Galindo, preseason second team all Sun Belt, to lead the way after scoring in double figures 22 times last season. Head coach Sergio Rouco has another reason to believe things will look up this year, and that’s the addition of 7 foot junior Russell Hicks and 6-11 junior college transfer Badara Ndiaye. These two towers should allow for Galindo to free up behind the arc more. Galindo made 45 threes last year and also led the team in rebounding.

Women

Picked to finish third in the Sun Belt East Division head coach Cindy Russo and company will be looking to LaQuetta Ferguson, first team preseason all Sun Belt, to lead the way in her 29^th year. Ferguson and junior guard Iva Ciglar, who led the Sun Belt in assists last season, look to be the most experienced players on the team. This year’s team features five newcomers including Hungarian guard Fanni Hutlassa and 6-6 Croatian center Maja Krajacic, both of whom play on their country’s respective junior national teams.
