NEW ORLEANS- Denver's senior midfielder Mariah Johnston was named SBC Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Johnston (Littleton, Colo.) scored both game-winners and added an assist in a pair of Denver road victories against Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee last weekend. Johnston is tied for the SBC lead during conference games with seven assists, 0.70 assists per game and three game-winning goals. Johnston also ranks third in points (15) and points per game (1.50), and is tied for ninth in goals (4) and goals per game (0.40).

This marks Johnston's third career SBC Player of the Week award and the fourth by a Pioneer this season.

FIU (10-5-3, 8-1-1) continued its unbeaten streak to nine games and broke a pair of school records on Parents Weekend. The Golden Panthers set a new school record for most wins during the conference season with their 1-0 victory over UALR and surpassed the mark for longest winning streak (6) with its 3-2 win over ASU on Sunday.

Florida Atlantic is the host of this year's Sun Belt Conference Championships set for Nov. 4-7. This is the first SBC tournament that the institution has hosted.
