NEW ORLEANS - Denver's Garth Summers and Cody Stambaugh, along with FIU's Yesica Rojas and Jamie Stinson have earned the Sun Belt Conference's Swimming and Diving individual awards this week. Summers is the Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Stambaugh has been tabbed the Men's Diver of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday.  On the women's side, FIU's Rojas has been selected as the Women's Swimmer of the Week and Stinson has been named as the Women's Diver of the Week.

Men's Swimmer of the Week

Garth Summers- Denver, Junior

In the Pioneers' dual meet with Utah, Garth Summers won both the 100 and 200 butterfly events and was also a member of Denver's first-place 400-yard freestyle relay and the second-place 400-yard medley relay team. In the men's 200-yard butterfly Summers turned in a time of 1:53.36, finishing over three seconds ahead of the field. In the 100 Butterfly, Summers finished with a time of 50.00, .24 seconds ahead of teammate Jeff Cox. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Summers, along with Jay Giddens, Austin Fowler and Clayton Myers, anchored a team that turned in a time of 3:07.99, over four minutes ahead of the Pioneers' B relay team. In the 400-yard medley relay, Summers swam as the third leg, helping the Pioneers to a second-place finish with a time of 3:26.78.

Men's Diver of the Week

Cody Stambaugh- Denver, Senior

In his first event of the day, senior Cody Stambaugh won the men's 1M diving event with a score of 320.85, well ahead of teammate Seth McNew's 208.50. Stambaugh also won the men's 3M diving event with a score of 331.55 to be the only diver to finish with over 300 points.

Women's Swimmer of the Week

Yesica Rojas- FIU, Junior

Junior Yesica Rojas put forth her best performance of the season last Saturday versus Florida Gulf Coast as FIU hosted its second straight home meet at Bay Vista Aquatic Center. Individually, Rojas took first place in the 100 butterfly event with a team season-best time of 59.58 seconds. She also placed second in the 200 butterfly race with a mark of 2:12.79, which is also an FIU-best for the year. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Rojas was a member of both "A" relay squads versus the Eagles as she combined with Vicnan Torres, Kelly Boyd and Kayla Derr for a 400 free relay time of 3:48.44 and then teamed up with Danielle Sneir, Erin Pavlick and Mariangela Macchiavello for a mark of 1:53.63 for the 200 medley relay. Both times earned FIU third-place finishes and the 400 free relay time marked a season-best for the Panthers.

Women's Diver of the Week

Jamie Stinson- FIU, Freshman

Freshman Jamie Stinson notched her second collegiate win last Saturday in a dual meet with Florida Gulf Coast as FIU hosted its second straight competition of the season at Bay Vista Aquatic Center. Stinson took first place on the 3-meter board for the second consecutive meet, recording a score of 212.25. She also placed second on the 1-meter springboard with a mark of 210.60.
