NEW ORLEANS -WKU's Garth Cameron Watkins, along with Claire Alexandre and Kylie Ruiz have earned the Sun Belt Conference's Swimming individual awards this week. Watkins is the Men's Swimmer of the Week, Alexandre has been selected as the Women's Swimmer of the Week. FAU's Kyle Lloyd and Stephanie Goodman won the honors for the divers as announced by the league office on Thursday.
MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Cameron Watkins, WKU
Sophomore- Indianapolis, Ind.
Sophomore Cameron Watkins led the Hilltoppers to a dual meet win against Cumberland in the 200 medley relay and the 200 backstroke. In the relay event, Watkins swam the opening leg posting a time of 24.22. He followed up that performance in the 200 back by recording a time of 1:51.83 to claim first place, over nine seconds faster than the second place finisher.
FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Junior- Paris, France
Junior Claire Alexandre continued to post impressive times helping lead the Lady Toppers to a win over Cumberland this past Saturday. She opened up the meet in the 200 medley relay by posting a time of 23.64. Then in the 50 Free, she recorded a time of 23.91 to take first place, just one tenth of a second away from breaking a pool record. She followed up that performance in the 500 Free with a time 5:00.89 to pick up her second in of the day. In the event, she was 30 seconds faster than the second place finisher and missed another pool record by just six tenths of a point.
MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Kyle Lloyd, FAU
Freshman
Lloyd recorded his first victory in a dual meet by winning the 1-meter diving competition by 31 points, tallying 228.45 points from the judges. He compiled 204.82 points in the 3-meter diving event to take home a second place finish behind teammate Garret LeMon.
FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Stephanie Goodman, FAU
Senior- Fort Lauderdale, FL
Goodman tallied two second place finishes in the 1- and 3-meter diving board competitions in a triangular dual meet against Florida Gulf Coast and Tampa. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native scored consistently in both events, tallying 232.42 points from the judges in the 3-meter competition after posting 222.37 points on the 1-meter diving board. Goodman now has recorded a dual meet win and two second place finishes in her last two events.
