“Drive to the Summit” Set for 2010 Sun Belt Basketball Championships

Elementary and middle school children can now register for the "Drive to the Summit" which is one of several events being held in conjunction with the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Basketball Championships being held in Hot Springs March 6-9.

The Drive to the Summit will feature elementary and middle school children dribbling basketballs through a quarter mile stretch of downtown Hot Springs.  The event will be held prior to the first tip-off on Saturday, March 6 at 8:30 a.m. and begins at the Hill Wheatley Plaza and ends at Summit Arena. 

The event is free for elementary and middle school children.  Participants who register will receive a t-shirt, basketball and first round tournament tickets for the children and their parents for the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament.  The first 300 participants to register are guaranteed a basketball, t-shirt and tickets.

Participants who are registered must check in between 7:00-8:15 a.m. at the Drive to the Summit registration area at the Hill Wheatley Plaza.  Any remaining basketballs and t-shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to those who register onsite. 

Fans of all ages are encouraged to bring their own basketballs and join the Drive to the Summit and help kickoff the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Basketball Tournament.
