D.D. Kyles also scored a touchdown for the Blue Raiders (5-3, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference) and Sherman Neal returned a blocked punt for a score.
On Florida Atlantic's final drive, a fourth-down pass to the Middle Tennessee 8-yard line was ruled out of bounds with 59 seconds left.
Dasher was only 7-for-21 for 90 yards passing but rushed for 108 yards.
Rusty Smith went 23-for-45 for 304 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions for Florida Atlantic (2-5, 2-2). He left the game with five minutes to go with a shoulder injury in his non-throwing arm.
After Ross Gornall's 42-yard field goal stretched Florida Atlantic's lead to 20-13, the Blue Raiders tied it on an 80-yard drive capped by Kyles' 8-yard touchdown run.
FIU 20, Louisiana-Lafayette 17 (OT)
MIAMI (AP) - Dustin Rivest kicked a 24-yard field goal in overtime to lift Florida International to a 20-17 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.
The Panthers (2-6, 2-3 Sun Belt Conference) blocked a 29-yard field goal attempt by Louisiana-Lafayette's Tourek Williams in overtime to beat the Ragin' Cajuns (4-4, 2-2) for the first time in six games.
Paul McCall threw for 250 yards and an interception for FIU, but he helped send the game into overtime with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Greg Ellingson with 10 seconds left in the game.
Chris Masson had 254 yards passing, one touchdown and an interception for Louisiana-Lafayette. Louis Lee caught three passes for 62 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown pass from Masson to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 14-7 lead with 1:07 before halftime.

North Texas 68, WKU 49
DENTON, Texas (AP) - In North Texas' 68-49 offensive shootout victory over Western Kentucky, the deciding factor was that Western Kentucky's offense blinked and made the first mistake.
Riley Dodge accounted for seven touchdowns, four passing and three rushing, as North Texas (2-6, 1-4) matched its school record of 68 points set against Youngstown State in 1957.
The Mean Green trailed by two touchdowns in the second quarter and 35-28 at halftime. But entering the fourth quarter, it was 49-49 thanks to Lance Dunbar's 71-yard touchdown run. Dunbar ended with 227 yards on 23 carries and his fifth consecutive game with more than 100 yards rushing.
"The biggest thing was that we didn't turn the ball over and give them a chance to go up a couple of scores," North Texas coach Todd Dodge said. "There was finally a break when we came up with the interception."
Jeremy Phillips intercepted a Kawaun Jakes pass and five plays later, Riley Dodge, the coach's son, ran 1 yard for a touchdown to put the Mean Green ahead to stay at 56-49.
Dodge, a redshirt freshman, entered Saturday with one rushing touchdown and three TD passes. He accounted for seven on Saturday, one short of the school record of eight set by Giovanni Vizza against Navy in 2007.
In that game, the highest-scoring game in Football Bowl Subdivision history, North Texas lost to Navy 74-62.
"As a father, I'm very proud of Riley. As the coach of this football team, I'm even more proud that he did a good job protecting the football. It was in his hands a lot."
In the first half, Riley Dodge completed 16 of 20 passes for 168 yards. He threw two touchdown passes to Darius Carey and a third to Jamaal Jackson to pull the Mean Green within 35-28 just 6 seconds before halftime.
In the second half, Dodge carried the ball nine times for 53 yards and all three of his rushing touchdowns. He was an efficient 8-for-10 for 94 yards and his final score, a 38-yard pass to Jackson, closed the scoring as North Texas outscored the Hilltoppers 19-0 in the fourth quarter. Dodge finished with 262 yards passing and 70 rushing.
"The way it started we knew that we were going to have to keep pace offensively," Riley Dodge said. "The defense did a nice job of making adjustments in the second half, and the big interception gave us the momentum that we needed to put the game away."
Western Kentucky hadn't scored more than 24 points in any game this season, but surpassed that total in less than 20 minutes against North Texas. The Hilltoppers erased a 14-7 deficit by scoring on Marell Booker's 61-yard run and Tyrell Hayden's 50-yard dash. Jakes' 3-yard pass to Jack Doyle put them ahead 28-14.
Bobby Rainey ran 10 times for 87 yards and two scores, and Hayden totaled 84 in seven carries as the Hilltoppers piled up 281 rushing yards.
But all that offense wasn't enough. North Texas is only 5-27 in coach Dodge's three seasons, and three of those victories are over Western Kentucky.
"We didn't finish the game when we needed to," Western Kentucky coach David Elson said. "We made mistakes, and they forced a couple of turnovers."
Louisville 21, Arkansas State 13
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Louisville had to depend on its third quarterback on the depth chart for a 21-13 win over Arkansas State on Saturday night.
Redshirt freshman Will Stein completed 20 of 39 passes for 232 yards and one interception in his first career start for the Cardinals (3-5). Freshman running back Darius Ashley ran for 77 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cardinals led 21-3 with less than 2 minutes to play in the third quarter but had a hard time putting the Red Wolves (2-5) away for good.
Arkansas State quarterback Corey Leonard found Brandon Thompkins in the end zone in the third quarter. The Red Wolves added a field goal in the fourth to close the lead to eight.
Leonard's last pass flew over the head of receiver Trevor Gillott in the end zone, and Louisville ran the clock out from there. Leonard threw for 303 yards but had two interceptions.
Ashley, also a redshirt freshman, scored Louisville's first touchdown of the game and his first career touchdown on a 26-yard run, with 5:34 to play in the first quarter. The Cardinals never trailed.
Louisville linebacker Brandon Heath scored Louisville's second touchdown after he picked off a pass by Corey Leonard and ran it back for 25 yards.
Arkansas' State could only generate a field goal by Josh Arauco after their most promising drive of the first half, 63 yards to Louisville's 7-yard line. Their other four possessions of the half resulted in three punts, Heath's interception, and the half expired on their last as Leonard downed the ball with 2 seconds to play.
The Cardinals went into halftime with a 14-3 lead after driving 88 yards and getting 1st-and-goal at the Red Wolves 2-yard line. Including a spike to stop the clock and a throw-away by Stein out of the end zone, the Cardinals threw incomplete passes on all four downs.
Louisville figured it out on their first possession of the second half, though, after the Red Wolves went three-and-out to start the third quarter. The Cardinals drove 64 yards on 10 plays, including two passes from Stein to Trent Guy for a combined 47 yards. Once the Cardinals got first-and-goal at Arkansas State's 1-yard line, it took Ashley three chances, but he punched it in on third down for his second touchdown of the day to make the score 21-3.
Stein played it safe for much of the game, throwing the ball well out of bounds several times when no receiver was open, but threw an interception with 4:17 to play in the third quarter.
The Red Wolves jumped on the opportunity, driving from midfield to score their first touchdown of the game. A 47-yard pass from Leonard to Don Jones on the first play of the possession took care of most of the distance. A four-yard pass from Leonard to Brandon Thompkins near the sideline in the end zone was called a touchdown after an official review, making the score 21-10 with 1:14 to play in the third quarter. Thompkins had seven catches in the game for 49 yards and Jones had three catches for 78 yards for Arkansas State.
Louisville missed a 36-yard field goal attempt on the following possession, leaving the door open for the Red Wolves in the final quarter. Arkansas State drove 76 yards to the Louisville 4 yard line, but had to settle for a field goal, Arauco's second of the day, making the score 21-13. Arauco set a Sun Belt Conference record for career field goals, with his second, giving him 51.
An interception by cornerback Chaz Thompson in the fourth quarter looked like it might have sealed the win for Louisville but the Cardinals punted after failing to get a first down and the Red Wolves still had a shot but failed to get another score, giving the Cardinals the ball back with 22 seconds to play.
