Troy 48, Louisiana-Lafayette 31
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -Levi Brown threw three touchdown passes as Troy squandered an early lead, then came from behind to beat Louisiana-Lafayette 48-31 on Saturday night.
Shawn Southward ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns for the Trojans (9-3, 8-0 Sun Belt Conference), who locked up the league's automatic berth in the New Orleans Bowl. Troy has won or shared the Sun Belt title the last four years.
Brown had a pair of fourth-quarter scoring passes, a 14-yarder to Tebiarus Gill and a 26-yarder to Jerrel Jernigan, to key a 17-point Troy run after Louisiana-Lafayette (6-6, 4-4) scored 25 unanswered points to lead 25-24.
Brown was 20-for-31 for 293 yards, becoming the Sun Belt's single-season record holder with 3,868 yards.
Troy's Bryan Willis returned an onside kick 38 yards for a touchdown with 2:10 left.
Chris Masson was 16-for-25 for 187 yards and a touchdown for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Middle Tennessee 38, Louisiana-Monroe 19
MONROE, La. (AP) -Dwight Dasher ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Middle Tennessee to a 38-19 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday for the Blue Raiders' sixth straight win.
Middle Tennessee (9-3, 7-1 Sun Belt Conference) won nine games for the first time since 1992.
Dasher's passing touchdowns of 6 and 18 yards tied Mickey Corwin's single-season mark of 21 set in 1984. Dasher's 88 yards rushing made him the school's career leader for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,676. He scored on runs of 2 and 9 yards.
The Blue Raiders intercepted three passes, returning one 58 yards for a score, and had four sacks to set a single-season school record with 38.
Luther Ambrose caught seven passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns for the Warhawks (6-6, 5-3).
Florida Atlantic 29, WKU 23
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -Jeff Van Camp threw three touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Florida Atlantic over Western Kentucky 29-23 on Saturday.
Lester Jean caught two touchdown passes for Florida Atlantic (4-7, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference) and Jason Harmon caught another. Van Camp was 16-for-30 with 266 yards.
Kawaun Jakes, who was 19-of-28 for 146 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Jake Gaebler for Western Kentucky (0-11, 0-7). Derrius Brooks also threw a touchdown pass for the Hilltoppers, catching a backward pass from Jakes and finding Seth Tamme from 21 yards out to close to 16-14 in the second quarter.
Casey Tinius kicked three field goals for Western Kentucky, including a 47-yarder for the final margin.
Arkansas State 30, North Texas 26
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Ryan Aplin threw for 240 yards and ran for 122 and two touchdowns to lead Arkansas State to a 30-26 victory over North Texas on Saturday.
Aplin, a redshirt freshman making his third start, scored on runs of 6 and 10 yards as the Red Wolves (3-8, 2-5 Sun Belt) raced to a 27-0 lead on their first four possessions.
North Texas (2-10, 1-7) closed to 30-26 on a 19-yard pass from Derek Thompson to Jamaal Jackson with 1:25 left.
After Alex Carrington blocked the extra point, ASU's Graham Bates recovered North Texas' ensuing onside-kick attempt.
The Mean Green rallied after trailing 27-7 at halftime. Kevin Dickerson scored on a 25-yard run and Alex Lott caught a 5-yard pass from Nathan Tune to make it 30-20. Lance Dunbar led North Texas with 126 rushing yards and a TD.
Don Jones and Reggie Arnold (111 rushing yards) added scoring runs for ASU.
