NEW ORLEANS - South Alabama's Tim Williams was honored today as the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Williams, who leads the Jaguars in scoring this season (14.5 points per game) and in rebounds (7.5 rebounds per game), led the Jags to three-straight road wins over the holidays, including a 67-66 decision against then No. 18 Florida on Dec. 22.

Williams led the Jags in scoring in all three contests with a high of 23 that came against Florida Atlantic in a 96-93 overtime win. In the game against FAU, Williams was instrumental in rallying the Jaguars from a 15-point deficit against the Owls and hit the game-tying three-point shot with 10.4 seconds left in the second half.

During the three game stretch Williams averaged 20.7 points per game and six rebounds per game. He shot 46 percent from the field and 54 percent from beyond the arc. His only sub 20-point effort was against FIU on Dec. 31.
