Denver's Rohnert Earns Second SBC Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS - For the second time this season Denver's Nate Rohnert has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Rohnert, a senior from Parker, Colorado averaged 25 points in two games last week against conference foes.

In a 75-66 victory of New Orleans, Rohnert scored 27 points in 34 minutes of action, while also compiling seven assists and three steals. The guard shot an amazing 80 percent from the floor including two-for-two from three-point range. Rohnert also hit 82 percent of his free throws in the game.

Against WKU, another victory, Rohnert led the Pioneers with 23 points en route to a 72-67 victory over the Hilltoppers. The senior had another stellar shooting performance as he made 9-of-13 field goal attempts (69.2 percent) and two-of-four three-point shots.

On the season Rohnert is ranked third in the SBC in points per game with a 16.8 scoring average, third in assists (4.6 per game), and is ranked second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1).

Rohnert also moved into 19th on DU's all-time scoring list with 1,129 career points, and he is sixth with 313 career assists.
